12/18/10 - Montville, NJ

No officer, we are only taking pictures. Yes, of random things. I am unemployed and don't have much else to do and this doesn't cost me anything. Doesn't make any sense? Well, it's what I do. Yes, officer, random things. No officer, we won't go anywhere where we're not supposed to be.

There were about 30 attitude filled questions in all, for which I had valid answers for.

He was staliking us from Dunkin' Donuts. He said I saw ya behind DD. I said yeah, I went to DD. He said well I didn't see you come out with anything. I said I didn't buy anything, I just used the Men's room.

Then he goes why didn't you park in this area since you are walking here? I said since there are no cars parked on any street in this neighborhood it appears that there is no on street parking.

Well officer, if you are seeing this, this is what I shot after you hassled us. Nice, isn't it?

PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOT A CRIME!

O--suspicious eyes breed suspicious intentions.
I have been advices several times to not be taking photos.
Subway--- buildings....
Buildings ...Can you believe it!
Of course--I then just used my cell phone...to be less obvious.
Kind in mind too--
the officer might just have felt threatened you might be aiming to deplete his stash of donuts:D

He was just being a pain in the ass. Seemed like it was a slow day...I'd totally would've hijacked the donut stash! :sprint:

Nice Shot!... Shame that you were mildly inconvenienced while taking it.

That said, thank goodness an officer is keeping his eyes open and showing some concern for the neighborhood. After all, that is what they get paid for. Perhaps when one of the "I don't like cops" crowd gets robbed or mugged they will remember to call "momma" instead of the cops that they love to put down.

Thank you. As a young child my ex-father was beating my Mom, the cops were called and responded but they just sat outside and did nothing. Been robbed. Called police. They refused to show up and told me to fill out a report at the station. Had a motorcycle accident, police refused to show up since an ambulance was not required. I've got more. Never had a positive experience when I needed law enforcement and was treated disrespectfully the few instances where I have needed to pick up/fill out forms at the station.

Wasn't doing anything wrong and answered every question truthfully. One pointed out he was doing his job keeping an eye out, however, based on the situation, it appears he was bored or wanted to flex his muscles.

Well, if you're taking pictures where a straight god-fearing police officer wouldn't take pictures, you're obviously highly suspicious of being a *gasp* TERRORIST!
:iconthefonzplz::iconbinladenplz:

Some people become cops to compensate their urge to make other peoples' live difficult, I guess.

I have trouble sometimes with Authorities, I probably would have ask him, why in Gods name were the woods on his patrol beat?

It was rural. There was an abandoned building in the vicinity. Totally bogus, but he knew although wouldn't come out and say it and tried to get me to cop to it as the reason why we were in the area...

Unless it's posted going in isn't illegal here in Iowa anyhow.

We aborted the trip to the site even though there is nothing posted. If I travel anywhere and I can't shoot it, I go to plan B and find something else to shoot to salvage the trip. It's no crime to think about commiting one, the "Minority Report" is just a creation straight out of Hollywood...for now.

Unfortunately the profession does seem to draw folks who like messing with other people. I mean there are people like that everywhere, but law enforcement gets more than their share.

Just because I was in the general area of an abandoned building I avoided it completely before he lit us up. He was trying to get us to admit that's why were there. Wasn't going to. Guilty until proven innocent.

When I was in Modena, Utah, which is practically a ghost town a cop rolled through. I waved, received a hearty wave in return and was left to do my shooting without incident.
